Five of the Most Unusual Weddings

Whether planning a big, lavish wedding or a smaller, intimate ceremony, most couples feel that it’s important to create lasting memories on their special day. The appearance of a bride, including the dress, bridal tiara and jewellery takes a great deal of planning and can be the most memorable aspect of the day. At Impostors Bridal Jewellery, we are all about giving our brides a unique and beautiful look, and we work with you to make sure you’re looking your very best. Our wide range of jewellery including bridal tiaras, necklaces, bags and clutches means you’ll be spoiled for choice. But choosing certain locations, themes and other features can also distinguish a wedding.

Here, we look at 5 of the more unusual weddings seen from around the world. Some of these wedding ideas are wacky, unusual and downright strange, but you have to admit it; they’re very original!

1. A Russian couple decided that it would be a good idea to get married while they - and their guests - rode their bicycles around the city streets. It’s never a bad time to get in shape, but this seems to be taking it to the extreme. Just imagine how difficult it would be to ride a bike while wearing a wedding dress!

2. A Chinese bride was married in a 200m long dress, setting a world record in the process. Married in front of a hotel in Guangzhou, the capital of the Guangdong Province, the dress train weighed almost 100kgs and was held up by about 50 people. Safe to say she’d need a great deal of space in her cupboard to store this dress!

3. An adventurous couple decided to get married while floating in zero gravity conditions in an aircraft that imitates the experience that people have had on the Moon. The bridal party floated for up to an hour before the groom and bride, who handed over 15000 dollars for the experience, said ‘I do’.

4. Another world record was broken when a bride decided that she would have no less than 110 bridesmaids at her wedding in Ohio, USA. The bride, who was a dance instructor, asked all her students to walk her down the aisle. Each bridesmaid chose their own dress and carried a single rose on the day.

5. Every couple remembers the place they first met, and what better way to tie the knot than at the place you first set eyes on your loved one? For one couple, Rockie Graham and Dave Hart, this place happened to be a local garbage dump. But this didn’t stop them celebrating their love with 250 of their friends. What could be more romantic!

As you can see, people go to great lengths to ensure their special day is not forgotten. But if you are looking for a more traditional ceremony, visit Impostors and check out our gorgeous range of bridal tiaras, bags and clutches and other accessories.
